These are particular reliefs, more or less circular rock formations with variable diameters that rise rapidly from the bottom pointing towards the surface.
The largest peaks can therefore have vertiginous walls, their summits then enthroned in the middle of the blue, which is why they are often teeming with life. Some pelagics are well aware of this and prowl around on the lookout for distracted prey.
Their summits are often covered with corals which are home to a wide variety of reef fish, schools of fusiliers, parrotfish, surgeonfish, angelfish, schools of anthias, turtles etc are easily observed there.
